About Me

I am a software engineer by profession - passionate about cooking and experimenting new recipes. My love for food has given me the zeal to learn and experiment. This blog is my humble attempt of sharing the version of recipes that I have liked and more importantly been satisfied about!

Most of the recipes here are the ones that I have learnt from my mother over the years. When I moved to the United States for work, I was introduced to the world cuisines by my friends & relatives. My lingering taste of what I have eaten in the restaurants is what urges me to try make the same at home and thats when I decide to venture into those unknown territories (read - the cuisines that I know very little about from a DIY perspective). I start by reading on the world-wide-web about what the particular cuisine/dish is about. I then check multiple recipes to understand the ingredients used and the overview of the process involved. I then try to create the dish in my kitchen with variations to the spices & other ingredients to suite the likings of me and my family. My  enthusiasm to share the food that I've grown up adoring and my eagerness to recreate the dishes at home from scratch is what has led me to experiment and eventually has led to the creation of this blog.

What I share here with you all is the tried and tested version of the recipes that my family & I have appreciated. Hopefully you and your family would appreciate too when you give the recipes here a try!

As the name suggests, this blog is all about vegetarian recipes (with an occasional inclusion of egg into desserts - I'm still in the process of learning the eggless version of desserts). I am a firm believer of vegetarianism (plant and dairy based diet) and I try to incorporate fresh and homemade in our daily lifestyle. I hope to be able to inspire the readers towards vegetarianism :).

I hope you readers enjoy this and keep sharing your comments/suggestions/feedback.

Happy cooking!!

Lots of Love,
Nidhi Shah
